Sue Muller Hacking is a memoir coach and award-winning journalist and author, with more than three decades of experience. Her writing has appeared in Writer’s Digest, Cruising World, and numerous other publications. She is the author of eight books, including her award-winning memoir Heels to Hiking Boots: Exploring the World to Find the Way Home, the first in her Endless Horizons memoir series.

A graduate of Stanford University with a degree in psychology, Sue worked as a counselor, teacher, and graphic artist before joining her husband, Jon, in a life of adventure. Married for 46 years, they have trekked remote trails, sailed three oceans, and lived at sea while raising and educating their two children.

Across all her work—whether journalism, books, or coaching—Sue’s passion is transformation through story. She believes deeply that your story matters. Not because of fame or credentials, but because story is what builds trust, helps others feel seen, and opens the door to change.

Today, she guides writers, memoirists, and thought leaders in shaping their own stories of change into narratives that connect and endure.
